Numidia was the North African kingdom connected with the Jugurthine War, where Roman corruption, senatorial failure, and the rise of Marius became visible.
Importance
Numidia matters because it helped expose the moral weakness of Rome’s governing class and provided a stage for Marius and Sulla before their rivalry broke the Republic.
